About Us

Your family for all things gaming

We've got you covered from new & retro video games, board games, toys, pop culture, simulation & much more!

Who we are

It’s not every day you come across a store with a history like ours. As ‘Australia’s longest operating independent video game retailer’, and the second oldest in the world, we know how to look after our customers. We have had a website since 1995... who knew the web even existed in 1995! We have been producing the famous Gamesmen catalogues  since 1990 and we also have a Retro Video Games Museum at our store in Penshurst – a once-in-a-lifetime experience for every gamer as it takes you through the evolution of gaming.

The Gamesmen is a family-owned and operated Australian business that has been around since 1982. Not only are we celebrating years of awesomeness but The Gamesmen is still run by the same Cusumano family! The range has expanded into a one-stop shop for video games, board games, toys, and pop culture merchandise.

Illustrating Our 40 Year Journey - March 2022

To celebrate our 40th year in business, we compiled all of our proudest and favourite moments into our Gamesmen History Book! We spent months digging through our memories and our archives to collect old photos and stories from the past 40 years. It truly was a pleasure to remember those moments and write about them and put everything together in one place.

Five months of hard work later, the book was in print! The process was made extra special by the fact that the whole project was made in-house by our amazing team. We wrote, arranged, designed and edited the enter book ourselves, and we proudly display the book of our history in our offices today.
