Our Company History
Founded in 1982 by Angelo Cusumano Snr, we began our retail journey trading from market stands in almost every major marketplace in Sydney such as Carringbah, Fleminging, Penrith, Mount Druit, Bankstown travelling to Canberra, Newcastle, Nowra, and Menangle, with our main warehouse at the time in Bonds Road, Riverwood. Exposing The Gamesmen at the Royal Easter Show year after year for many years.
Our early years of trade saw the popularity of computer games soar with sales of Game & Watch consoles. Soon after we evolved into Intellivision, Atari 2600 and Commodore 64. We outgrew our original premises and moved to the iconic 491 Forest Road, Penshurst location where we are today.
The early 1990's saw the introduction of popular handhelds such as Nintendo's Gameboy, Sega Gamegear and Atari Lynx. Consoles such as Nintendo NES, Super NES and Sega Megadrive flourished and The Gamesmen's business gained a strong foothold as a destination for all gaming needs for people of all ages Australia wide.
In December 1995, Angelo Cusumano our founder, passed away in tragic circumstances. However, the family was determined to continue his dream and with dedicated staff and a large loyal customer base, The Gamesmen continued to move forward.
In September 2000, The Gamesmen expanded into Wollongong just in time for the launch of the Sony's Playstation 2 console. In May 2003 we opened our Penrith store in Penrith Plaza.
Today, The Gamesmen are proud to be in its 31st year of business. Angelo's sons now share a commitment to continue holding a firm grip on the values of customer service and expertise which is what has enabled us to do business today.
The Gamesmen has a clear focus on continuing to deliver quality service, the extensive product range and the enjoyable shopping experience that has made us famous all these years.
We will always do our utmost to offer the best possible deal combining price, service and the right product.
