3DS News Galore!
So, we’re all pretty much in agreement that the 3DS is just “holy crap!” amazing, right? With press events held in the US overnight, we’ve just scored even more news to salivate over. Click through for what’s new…
First off, it’s important to stress that this info relates to the US and UK release of the machine. Aussie details are to be announced soon, but we can certainly draw some informed conclusions from what we’ve got here…
The 3DS will be released March 27th in Europe and March 25th in the US. Australia’s official date message is “month of March 2011″. 99% of videogame releases in this country fall on a Thursday. Assume what you will from that.
No more Friend Codes for individual games! Your machine will have a friend code that needs to be exchanged only once, with an LED indicator to show when you have friends online.
Yes, you will be able to transfer your DSi-Ware games to your 3DS.
Multi-tasking! You’ll be able to pause your game and flick between apps!
As with the DSi, games will be region-specific.
There will be 30 games released for the system in the US by the end of June. Expect some variance on this for Aus, with a couple delays or adjusted release dates and the possibility of games that just don’t speak to an Aussie audience not making the trip. That said, here’s the 23 of those 30 that are officially announced:
nintendogs + cats
Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overclocked
Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition
Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D
Madden NFL Football
The Sims 3
Pro Evolution Soccer 2011 3D
